Pruning and Trimming

Your trees are assets that can increase property value when they are properly maintained. Pruning is a common form of maintenance that removes dead or unhealthy parts of the tree but also removes carefully chosen branches in order to improve the structure, health, and safety of the tree.

Types of Pruning:

  • Crown Raising- commonly referred to as, “raising the canopy”, is the process of removing lower branches that are obtrusive and enhances the tree’s presentation
  • Crown Reduction- reduces the overall size of the trees canopy and is commonly used to remove unnecessary weight that could damage other limbs
  • Crown Thinning- removing limbs and branches from the interior of the tree. This can reduce the risk of the tree blowing over as well as increase light reaching the lawn.

Tree Trimming

  • Tree Trimming can improve the health of a tree but is best performed by a professional. It is dangerous and could affect the over health of the tree if not done properly.

Dead Wooding

  • Dead Wooding is the safe removal of any dead wood from the tree. Dead wood is potentially hazardous to the surrounding structure as well as the tree itself. Dead wood provides an ideal environment for insects, fungus and disease to manifest. If not properly removed, this can kill the tree.
